Hey Jude!!

Hadn't done a solid Beatles piece in awhile...I was listening to the White album and feeling a little experimental. This is inspired from the live performance of "Hey Jude". I was going for a vintage look while still trying incorporate some color...

Animation Mentor Final

Well...not the Final final...the class 2 final. Anyway I decided to animate a "simple" dance move...it didn't end up being very simple. For some reason I cannot fathom, I decided animating capoeira (a type of Brazilian Martial Art) would be a fun challenge. There were many times during this scene where I legitimately thought I bit way more off than I could chew...all that aside I feel I made it through with some degree of success. There are still some issues I feel could be ironed out a bit more, but all in all I like it and I learned a lot doing it...which is the point...

Special thanks to Lawrence for lighting this bad boy. Go visit his blogs: EvilAnimator and Rite of Passage to see what he's up to.

Body Worlds

Ok, Ok, I'm trying to be better about this whole bloging thing...I've got a back log of stuff so rather than post all of it, I'll do a controlled release...yeah...

Sarah and I recently went to the Body Worlds show in San Diego. Each Body Worlds has a theme and this one was about the brain. These shows are great because Sarah gets to enjoy the medical aspect of Body Worlds and I get to enjoy drawing, what would be otherwise frowned upon in day to day society, a bunch of skinless cadavers. Its a great chance to study anatomy in a truly unique way. I highly recommend going...

Testing the monitor

Ah, Caitlin Fairchild...My favorite early 90's grunge era comic heroine...this conjures memories of Image comics back in their creator owned hay day.

Haven't used Painter in awhile, so I decided I would use it to help me calibrate my monitor. More experimenting with different settings...I find I put a lot of tests and experiments on this blog...

Musings

Wow! I'm a terrible blogger...so long since my last post, sorry about that. Nothing major, just playing around with Photoshop and a couple of different styles before I get too busy. Some of you may recognize my model :)
